This Privacy Policy explains how Lourenço Grandela ("I", "me", "my") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you visit this website and complete the chronic pain quiz. This policy is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Portuguese data protection law.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What data I collect

When you complete the quiz and submit your contact details, I collect the following:

Your first name
Your email address
Your quiz answers and result score
The time you took to complete the quiz
Basic technical data automatically collected by the hosting platform (IP address, browser type, visit timestamp)

I do not collect any sensitive health data beyond what you voluntarily provide through the quiz. The quiz is informational and educational in nature. No medical records are created or stored.

3. Why I collect this data and the legal basis

I use your data for the following purposes:

To send you your quiz results and a personalised educational breakdown (legitimate interest and your consent given at point of submission)
To contact you personally about whether a consultation may be appropriate for your situation (legitimate interest)
To improve the quiz and understand how people engage with it (legitimate interest)

The legal basis for processing your data is your freely given, informed consent at the point of form submission, as well as my legitimate interest in providing you with relevant follow-up communications directly related to your quiz results.

4. How I store your data

Your submission data is stored securely through Netlify (form submissions) and MailerLite (email marketing platform). Both providers are GDPR-compliant and process data within appropriate legal frameworks. Netlify's servers are located in the United States under standard contractual clauses. MailerLite is headquartered in the European Union.

I do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes.

5. How long I keep your data

I retain your data for as long as necessary to provide you with relevant communications and for up to 24 months after your last interaction. You may request deletion at any time (see section 7).

6. Email communications

If you complete the quiz and score in the mid or high range, you will receive an automated email with your personalised results. I may follow up once to discuss a potential consultation. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting me directly.

I will never send unsolicited commercial emails or add you to unrelated marketing lists.

7. Your rights under GDPR

As a data subject under EU law, you have the following rights:

The right to access the personal data I hold about you
The right to correct inaccurate data
The right to request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
The right to restrict or object to processing
The right to data portability
The right to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
The right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD) at www.cnpd.pt

8. Cookies and tracking

This website does not currently use cookies or third-party tracking scripts. No analytics platforms are installed. Basic access logs may be retained by the hosting provider (Netlify) for security and performance purposes. These are not accessible to me individually.

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of this website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
